Approved ADR Driver Training Courses

Training may only be provided by Approved training providers when seeking to sit the ADR driver training exams. The training providers listed below have been approved by the Health and Safety Authority to run courses leading to a driver -training certificate for the transport of dangerous goods by road for all Classes of dangerous goods except Class 1 and Class 7. Candidates seeking an ADR Driver Training Course should in the first instance contact any of the approved training providers to obtain details of the Basic and Tanker Specialisation courses available. Approved courses are limited to a maximum of 16 candidates. Note that candidates for an ADR driver training certificate must attend an approved course in the Republic of Ireland in order to be allowed sit the associated examinations.


Detailed instructions on how to become an approved training provider are contained in the document “Guidance for Providers of ADR Driver Training Courses” available from the Health & Safety Authority.

Intending training providers should also consult the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Act, discount 1998 (Fees) Regulations (SI No.619 of 2010) which includes details of the fees payable by training providers and examination candidates.
